Edward May is an emerging artist

Edward May is an emerging artist from the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been painting all his life, having learned from watching his grandmother paint when he was very young. Ed has been successfully selling his art for the past 8 years, and plays guitar professionally in his rock band, 3rdrail.

Ed evokes emotion. From happy, lightly humored, tongue in cheek silliness, to dark and depressing, sometimes downright evil imagery. It really depends on his mood. "Ever since I was a kid, I've always had the gift to turn a blank canvas into something. My style has changed over the years, but that raw ability to create is stronger than ever. When I'm feeling it, I can turn out a painting a day. The most I've painted was 26 in 30 days. That was a crazy month. Lots of Coffee!"

Along with his fine art paintings and prints, Ed has created logos for companies, designed logos and album covers for bands, and has used his photoshop skills to create custom print ads and professional flyers and handbills. Ed has had over 6 years experience in the retail world, having designed and fabricated multiple displays for the Christmas department of a retail store, where he was also a buyer and manager.
